Erik can provide you with advice and representation in the following areas of law: personal injury law, civil litigation, employment law, estate planning and administration, estate litigation, commercial and residential real estate, and surface rights law. He has appeared on behalf of clients at all levels of court in the Province and before various boards and tribunals, including the Alberta Energy Regulator, Alberta Utilities Commission and the Surface Rights Board.
Erik was born and raised in Edmonton and moved with his wife Alissa to the Peace County in 2015. Before moving to Grande Prairie, Erik worked for the Alberta public service. He earned his Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Business at the University of Alberta in 2004 and graduated with a Law Degree (Honours) from the University of Kent, England in 2013. He was accredited by the Federation of Law Societies of Canada in 2015 and called to the Alberta Bar on July 15, 2016.
Erik is involved in the community in a variety of different ways. He currently volunteers with the Grande Prairie Bar Association and has given lectures to the Grande Prairie Centre for Lifelong Learning, the Northern YMCA, Accredited Supportive Living Services and others. He has provided a number of seminars on surface rights, estate planning, landlord and tenant law, and employment law. Currently, he is teaching a Business Law course at Grande Prairie Regional College and is on the Board of Directors of the Grande Prairie Hospice Palliative Care Society.
In his spare time Erik enjoys traveling, reading, marathon running, triathlons, and spending time with his dogs Watson and Murphy.
