Having worked with private landowners for more than 12 years, Maria assists clients in navigating the complex issues arising from oil and gas development on their land, including surface rights matters, compensation concerns, and resource industry negotiations.
After moving with her family from Manitoba to Fort St. John, British Columbia in 2006, Maria began her career with the BC Energy Regulator, where she developed a strong understanding of the oil and gas industry. Over time, her work became increasingly focused on supporting private landowners and helping them address concerns related to resource development. Following seven years in the Regulator’s community engagement department, Maria accepted a contract with the Provincial Government, expanding their work to help landowners navigate a broader range of issues, including compensation matters.
Outside of work, Maria enjoys travelling and exploring new countries, taking on the occasional furniture refurbishing project, and can be convinced to join her children on fishing and hunting adventures.
