Todd was raised in Lawn, Newfoundland. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) at Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1997, his Masters of Business Administration and Bachelor of Law degrees from the University of New Brunswick in 2001, and his Masters of Law (LLM) with a specialization in corporate and securities law from the University of London in 2012. Todd completed CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Course in 2020. He is a member of the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador (2002), the Law Society of Alberta (2004), The Law Society of British Columbia (2021), the Canadian Bar Association, the Grande Prairie Bar Association and the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association.
Todd joined the firm in 2004. He is involved with and advises several non-profit and community-based organizations. Todd was a Trustee of the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation for ten years and held several executive positions including Chair of the Board. He formerly served as a director of Kev’s Kids Society and was a past president of the Grande Prairie Volunteer Services Bureau. Todd has also served as a sessional instructor at Northwestern Polytechnic (formerly GPRC). He regularly conducts legal presentations as a volunteer and advises community based non-profit organizations. Todd was awarded the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee medal in 2022 in recognition of his volunteer efforts. Todd practises primarily in corporate and commercial law with a focus on corporate reorganizations, corporate governance, sales and acquisitions and commercial financing.
