Todd was raised in Lawn, Newfoundland. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) at Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1997, his Masters of Business Administration and Bachelor of Law degrees from the University of New Brunswick in 2001, and his Masters of Law (LLM) with a specialization in corporate and securities law from the University of London in 2012. He was admitted to the Newfoundland Bar in 2002 and the Alberta Bar in 2004. He is a member of the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Law Society of Alberta, the Canadian Bar Association, the Grande Prairie Bar Association and the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association.
Todd has been a resident of Grande Prairie since 2003. He is involved with and advises several non-profit and community based organizations. Todd has served as a Trustee of the Board of the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation since 2010 and currently serves in the role of Vice-Chair. He is also a director of Kev’s Kid’s Society, a registered charity that assists children in need in the local community. He formerly served as President of the Grande Prairie Volunteer Services Bureau. Todd has also served as a sessional instructor at Grande Prairie Regional College teaching an introductory law course. He regularly conducts legal presentations as a volunteer with several community organizations. In his free time, Todd enjoys traveling and distance running. Todd’s practice areas include corporate and commercial law with a focus on corporate reorganizations, sales and acquisitions as well as estate planning and administration and residential, agricultural and commercial real estate.
